Game of Thrones Season 8

The next of my recent non-sports posts is Game of Thrones Season 8 from Rittenhouse.   Over the years I've bought boxes of just about every season as well as some boxes of the Inflexions line.  The only seasons I don't have at least one autographed card from are 4 and 5. This, of course, will be the last box of a season I'll be able to get new as the show came to a satisfying, yes I said satisfying, end. As usual with these boxes I got a complete set of the base cards. The box promised two autographs. This card was a surprise hit for me and can be well paired with the Season 3 Sophie Turner autographed card I have. This is only the second character wardrobe card I've gotten from the show and is part of the costume in the picture. Daniel Tuite played Lothar Frey who was one of the planners of the Red Wedding so we hate him.  I do like these "full bleed" autographs as there as also bordered autograph cards. As mentioned in a previous post there is a trend lately...

Games, Thrones, Cards

I loved Game of Thrones so naturally I've been collecting the cards. I came across Game of Thrones Inflexions on a website and bought three boxes. Each box has three packs with each pack having three base cards and two hits. Here is the result: These are silver parallels of the base and are numbered out of 75.  There are other, rarer, parallels but I only got silver.   These laser cut cards come one per box. These are lenticular motion cards and also seem to be one per box.  They are semi-transparent and much prettier in person. There were two autographs per box. This is a "full-bleed" autograph card and is similar to cards from earlier sets. These are called Valyrian autographs. My favorite autograph set is these gold ink signatures.  The ink really stands out. Each box seems to have one big hit so here there are in order of how much I like them. This card contains an actual United Kingdom postage stamp.  I used to collect stamps and England was my special...

Mission To Mars Card Pages Part 10 - The End

To recap:  These are the cards I would take with me if I could take ten 9-card pages with me to Mars. I decided that each part of my collection cannot have more than one page.  The cards must fit into a regulation page as far as height and width but I am taking liberties with how thick some of the cards are. The last of the 10 pages features my favorite Non-Sport cards. 1964 Topps Beatles Black and White Series 2 #69 My all-time favorite band.  Topps issued several Beatles sets in the 1960's.  I got this card for $3 at a show. 1991 Impel Marvel #1 I have some other Spider-Man cards, including a 3-D hologram, but this one is the best one. 1995 Topps Animaniacs Stickers #12 I was a huge fan of the Animaniacs.  These pigeons are from the Goodfeathers, which was a parody of the movie Goodfellas.  The most famous Animaniacs were Pinky and the Brain but I liked the Goodfeathers the most; although, Chicken Boo is also up there. 2...

Game of Thrones Season 3 Hobby Box

I ordered a Game of Thrones Season 3 box online in December to see if I could get something good. My season 1 and season 2 purchases were from loose packs at a local comic book store but I had gotten 3 autographs including Conleth Hill, who plays Lord Varis, so I've had some luck. I got a full set of base from the season 3 box plus some good inserts. Here are the best cards: Card #7 Gold Parallel This card is numbered out of 150 and is my first gold card from any season. This is a Gallery card of Jaime Lannister.  It looks much better in person as it has a wonderful 3-D foil effect. The first of 2 autographs from the box is from the Full Bleed autograph set.  This is my first of this type of autograph.  Tobias plays Edmure Tully, brother of Caitlyn Stark and thus uncle to the various Stark children.  It is his wedding that turns into the infamous Red Wedding. The second autograph in the box made me happy, happy, happy! Happy! Happy! H...
