Sports Cards Ate My Brain

I love soccer and was elated a few years ago when NBC Sports Network started showing English Premier League Games. Then in 2013 Topps came out with a Premier League Gold set.  My favorite collecting store got a case and held a box for me while I bought one pack at a time.  Each pack comes with an autograph or a relic.  I bought a second box online when I won some lottery money. I like the base card design since the front is devoted to the picture and does not have unnecessary froo-froo cluttering it up. I chose Brad Guzan because it has been announced that he will be playing for Atlanta United in MLS when the premier league season ends.  I cannot stand Brad Guzan. I'll have to reconcile this. The inserts all have the same basic design with the name, in this case "MidfieIld Maestros on the left.  Not a lot of imagination for the inserts to all have the same design. Leicester City wins the Barclay's Premier League championship a year after they were almost demoted.  Awesome! This is the only card I have of a current Leicester City player.  Huth has been huge playing as a central defender.

To recap:  These are the cards I would take with me if I could take ten 9-card pages with me to Mars. I decided that each part of my collection cannot have more than one page.  The cards must fit into a regulation page as far as height and width but I am taking liberties with how thick some of the cards are. Along with my Game of Thrones season 3 box I ordered a 2012 Panini Americana box.  This set features U.S. Presidents, U.S. Women's National Soccer team players, astronauts and U.S. Olympians. Here are the highlights: William McKinley Gold Press Proof This card is numbered out of 10. Walt Cunningham Silver Press Proof Memorabilia Card Walt was the lunar module pilot for Apollo 7.  He also looks seriously cool in this photo. Amy LePeilbet Autograph Amy played for Arizona State University before turning pro.  A defender, she has no goals in over 80 appearances for her country. Bonnie Blair autograph Bonnie won 5 gold medals and 1 bronze during her career and was inducted into the US Olympic hall of fame in 2004.  She was the Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year in 2004 along with Norwegian speed skater Johann Olav Koss. I'm very pleased with this box as I am a big soccer fan and remember Bonnie Blair from the Winter Olympics.  ...
